The middle school years can be a tough transition. Your child isn’t as small and helpless as they once were, but they aren’t adults yet either. Do you find that the child who used to have an endless number of things to say spends more time behind a closed bedroom door or huddled over a phone or computer in silence? Maybe you’ve tried to talk to them, but don’t know what to say, or didn’t get the reaction you were expecting. You just want them to be safe, happy, and healthy.

The Empowering Youth and Families Program is here to help bridge the gap between middle schoolers and their families. This 10-week program will help both children and adults learn better communication skills and family bonding techniques in a safe and supportive environment. Each week, a meal will be provided and families will participate in sessions as a large group with other families as well as separate breakout sessions specifically for youth and caregivers.

Every Tuesday @ 6 p.m. starting March 23rd (10 weeks long)

Social distancing and masks required.

Interested families should contact Sara Little (EYFP Program Assistant) at slittle6@ncsu.edu.
