The SPARK Challenge

Below are the directions for each day of the SPARK Challenge. You have until the end of October to complete each activity, the date listed is simply the kickoff of each event. You will receive one raffle ticket entry for each activity you complete. Read all the way to the end to learn about ways to earn EXTRA raffle tickets. The raffle winner will be announced on Monday, November 1, 2021.

Guess the Number of Popcorn Kernels in this gallon bag provided by Shallowford Farms in Yadkinville, NC. The winner will get the entire bag and this 4-H Window Cling! Earn extra raffle entries by completing the additional questions on the guess form.

Monday (10/4): “My Spark Monday”

What is your spark? Maybe you have more than one? A “spark” is something we are passionate about. Something that drives us to learn more, do more, and keep moving forward. One of my sparks has always been animals. I love learning about and interacting with animals. Share your “spark(s)” in the form to earn another raffle ticket entry.

Tuesday (10/5): “Too Kind Tuesday”

4-H’ers learn to be leaders. What better way to lead by example than being kind to others. Talking to someone new at school, helping a family member do chores, or being nice to a sibling are all great ways to show kindness. How were you kind today? Share in the Kindess Form to earn a raffle ticket.

Wednesday (10/6): “Workout Wednesday”

Health is one of the 4-H pillars! Share ways that you were active today in the workout form to earn a raffle ticket entry.

Thursday (10/7): “Thankful Thursday”

For Thankful Thursday, your challenge is to show your appreciation through service. Help out a family member, teacher, or coach. Write a thank you card to a nurse, policeman, fireman, or EMT. Any act of service counts. Share how you were thankful in the Thankful Form to earn a raffle ticket.

Saturday (10/9): “Support Local Saturday”

Local businesses are the heart of the community. They keep our money local and often provide locally sourced products. You can spend money at a local business and know that you are supporting your neighbor. Tell us which local business you supported in the Local Form to earn a raffle ticket entry.

  • October 5 Creative Hands (5–6 p.m. @ The Extension Office, Troy)

  • October 18 Livestock Club (6–7 p.m. @ The Ag Center, Troy)

2. Bring a friend who has never been to a 4-H meeting: 5 extra tickets

3. Agree to do a 4-H Presentation in 2022: 10 Extra Tickets
