North Carolina 4-H recently introduced a new online option for completing 4-H project records through Kaleidoscope. Beginning with the 2026 program year, 4-H’ers may complete their project record online, marking the first step in a transition toward a fully digital project record system.
As members, families and 4-H professionals begin navigating this new option, North Carolina 4-H is offering two virtual help sessions in September to provide additional guidance and answer questions about the online system.
Separate sessions will be available for adults who support youth with project records and for 4-H’ers completing their own records. Participants will have an opportunity to learn more about using Kaleidoscope, ask questions and become more familiar with the online project record process.
Adult Help Session
Monday, September 21, 2026 | 7-8 p.m.
4-H staff, volunteers, parents and other adults who support 4-H’ers are invited to bring their questions about the new online project record option and how they can help youth complete their project records.
Registration Deadline: Sunday, September 20 at 12 p.m.
Youth Help Session
Tuesday, September 22, 2026 | 7-8 p.m.
4-H’ers who have begun exploring or working on their project record through Kaleidoscope are invited to bring their questions and get help navigating the online system. All youth must be accompanied by an adult during the session.
Registration Deadline: Monday, September 21 at 12 p.m.
Both sessions will be held virtually through Zoom. Participants must register in advance, and meeting information will be provided directly to registered participants.
A printable promotional flyer is also available to download, print and share with 4-H’ers, families, volunteers and others who may be interested in attending.

4-H project records give youth an opportunity to document their learning, experiences and accomplishments within a selected project area. Starting with the 2026 program year, members have the option to complete their project record online through Kaleidoscope or use one of the other available record formats.
