REGISTRATION

The Eastern Regional Shooting Sports Tournament is scheduled for August 23, 2025 at the Eastern 4-H Center.  PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY.  We know this is a lot of information, but this email contains important content on Shooting Sports registration.

Tournament Registration is due by August 1, 2025. All teams and individuals must be registered by 11:59 PM on this date.

PAYMENT IS DUE in-hand by August 8, 2025

This year the cost for Shooting Sports is: $25 per child.

Checks may be made payable to Chowan County 4-H with ERSS - “child’s name” or “county name” if paying for all children in the county.  Camaryn Byrum will send invoices to the Agent and coach.

This year, we are asking those who are registering teams (coaches and/or agents) to fill out the form below and you will be sent a registration form for your team.

We are trying to make the registration process easier.  The request form will ask for the following information:

• County

• Coach Name

• Coach Phone

• Coach Email

• Name of 4-H Agent (if different from above)

• Email of  4-H Agent (if different from above)

• Check the boxes to select if you are registering Junior and/or Senior Teams

• Note when/if you plan on shooting Air Rifle/Pistol

Once you have completed the form, you will be sent a confirmation email with a link to a folder with your registration forms.

• There are three tabs at the bottom: Example, Junior Registration & Senior Registration. Please complete junior and senior registration on their respective tabs.

• Register teams together, then register individuals separately. See the example tab. The SharpShooters team of 5 has all five in shotgun, four in rifle, and three in archery. Two members are also competing as individuals in muzzleloading, and they are registered as individuals for muzzleloading, in separate rows below the team. This is because we need the "Team Name" and "Individual" to classify where registration goes in our tabulations sheet.

• Your registration will be considered final on August 1, 2025, and editing access will be locked. You will still be able to view your registration after this date, and any corrections/updates should be emailed to albrook4@ncsu.edu

Teams are composed of 3 to 5 individuals. Counties may have multiple teams, however, competitors may only compete on one team, and/or as an individual. (see 2025 tournament rules, p. 4, for further clarification  COACHES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KNOWING THE RULES.  If something is not clear, please contact Charles Young at cmyoung2@ncsu.edu to receive clarification. All rules are enforced at the event.

RETURNING THIS YEAR - AIR RIFLE/PISTOL

Youth have the option of coming Friday, August 22, to shoot this discipline between 6:00-8:30 p.m. in the Rec. Hall at the Eastern 4-H Center.

Please complete the Federal Waiver 4-H Form (required Federal form for participation of youth in .22 pistol events). Coaches must ensure that they have a completed form for each youth participant in .22 pistol. You may edit to include your practice dates as well. If you already have a signed form, that will suffice.RETURNING THIS YEAR - AIR RIFLE/PISTOL

PLEASE NOTE: if you will be lodging at the Eastern 4-H Center, you must be checked in by 9:00 p.m.

VOLUNTEERS

We need volunteers to help at the tournament. Please visit this LINK to sign up, if you are able to volunteer.  It takes a lot of people to make this tournament work, so please help get the word out to 4-H volunteers, staff, etc that we will need help that day. Your team also has the option of signing up to run a discipline for the day.

Youth Handgun Safety Act Notice referenced on form. Each participant must have a completed 4-H Medical Information and Treatment Form on file with the coach at the tournament.
