North Carolina 4-H Office
The State 4-H Office is the central administrative unit for North Carolina 4-H, housed within the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences at NC State University and working through NC State Extension.
The office provides statewide leadership, coordination and support for 4-H youth development, working with Extension professionals and partners across North Carolina to support programs, resources and opportunities for young people.
North Carolina Cooperative Extension
N.C. Cooperative Extension connects the research, knowledge and resources of North Carolina’s land-grant universities with communities throughout the state. Through a partnership of NC State University and N.C. A&T State University, Extension provides research-based education and resources through 101 local centers serving all 100 counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, including 4-H youth development programs delivered in communities across North Carolina.
NC State Extension
NC State Extension is the university-level Extension unit at NC State University and is housed within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). It extends the university’s research, expertise and resources to communities across North Carolina and supports the delivery of 4-H youth development through specialists, faculty and local Extension professionals.
Cooperative Extension at N.C. A&T
Cooperative Extension at N.C. A&T is the university-level Extension unit at N.C. A&T State University and is housed within the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES). It extends the university’s research, expertise and resources to individuals, families and communities across North Carolina and supports the delivery of 4-H youth development and other educational programs throughout the state.
North Carolina 4-H Council
The State 4-H Council provides youth with opportunities to develop leadership skills, represent their peers and help strengthen connections among 4-H members across the state. Led by elected state 4-H officers, the council supports youth engagement and leadership at the state, district and local levels while providing a voice for 4-H members within the statewide program.
North Carolina 4-H Volunteer Leaders’ Association
The North Carolina 4-H Volunteer Leaders’ Association (NC4-HVLA) supports and represents the volunteers who help make 4-H experiences possible across the state. The association promotes volunteer engagement, leadership, development and recognition while providing opportunities for volunteers to connect, share ideas and strengthen their work with young people.
North Carolina Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals
The North Carolina Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals (NCAE4-HYDP) supports Extension professionals working in 4-H youth development across the state. The association promotes professional development, networking, recognition and the advancement of the 4-H youth development profession while connecting members with colleagues and professional resources.
North Carolina 4-H Development Fund
The North Carolina 4-H Development Fund provides private support for the North Carolina 4-H program. Formed in 1959, the fund helps support and strengthen 4-H programs and activities across the state through financial support and other resources.
Support provided through the fund helps expand educational opportunities, strengthen local programs and support recognition and leadership experiences for youth and volunteers throughout North Carolina.
The NC 4-H Development Fund operates as an entity with its own Board of Directors and is managed by the North Carolina Agricultural Foundation, Inc.
