National 4-H Week is an annual celebration held during the first full week of October, bringing together 6 million youth, 3,500 Extension educators, 500,000 volunteers, and 35 million alumni to celebrate the incredible impact of 4-H and preparing young people to be Beyond Ready for college, careers and life.
North Carolina 4-H joins the nationwide celebration each year through statewide initiatives, local activities and opportunities for 4-H communities across the state to get involved.

National 4-H Week: October 4–10, 2026
North Carolina 4-H is joining 4-H communities across the country for National 4-H Week 2026. Throughout the week, there will be opportunities to show your 4-H spirit, recognize the people who make 4-H possible, connect with the 4-H community and celebrate the impact of 4-H across North Carolina.

Monday, October 5 – Go Green
Show your 4-H spirit by going green! On Monday, October 5, 4-H members and supporters across the country are encouraged to wear green and show their support for 4-H. Landmarks and buildings across the nation will also light up green in recognition of National 4-H Week.
Whether you wear your favorite 4-H shirt, add some green to your outfit or encourage others to join you, Go Green is an easy way to show your 4-H pride alongside 4-H communities across the country.

Thursday, October 8 – Thankful Thursday
There is a lot to be thankful for in 4-H. On Thankful Thursday, the 4-H community is encouraged to show appreciation for the people, experiences and opportunities that make 4-H possible.
Take a moment to thank someone who has made a difference in your 4-H experience, share a favorite memory or highlight something 4-H has given you. However you participate, Thankful Thursday is a chance to recognize the people and experiences that make the 4-H community special.
