National 4-H Week is an annual celebration held during the first full week of October, bringing together 6 million youth, 3,500 Extension educators, 500,000 volunteers, and 35 million alumni to celebrate the incredible impact of 4-H and preparing young people to be Beyond Ready for college, careers and life.
North Carolina 4-H joins the nationwide celebration each year through statewide initiatives, local activities and opportunities for 4-H communities across the state to get involved.

North Carolina 4-H is joining 4-H communities across the country for National 4-H Week 2026. Throughout the week, there will be opportunities to show your 4-H spirit, recognize the people who make 4-H possible, connect with the 4-H community and celebrate the impact of 4-H across North Carolina.

October 4–8 – $4 for 4-H
Celebrate National 4-H Week by helping us turn North Carolina green! From October 4–8, the $4 for 4-H campaign invites 4-H members, families, alumni and supporters to make a gift starting at just $4 and help us reach all 100 North Carolina counties.
When you make a gift, it is automatically connected to a county based on your address. The first gift connected to each county turns it green on our campaign map. Follow along throughout the week as the map fills in and help us reach our goal of turning all 100 counties green.
Monday, October 5 – Go Green
Show your 4-H spirit by going green! On Monday, October 5, 4-H members and supporters across the country are encouraged to wear green and show their support for 4-H. Landmarks and buildings across the nation will also light up green in recognition of National 4-H Week.
Whether you wear your favorite 4-H shirt, add some green to your outfit or encourage others to join you, Go Green is an easy way to show your 4-H pride alongside 4-H communities across the country.

Wednesday, October 7 – 4-H Photography Contest Premiere
See North Carolina through the eyes of our 4-H’ers! Join us on Wednesday, October 7, at 7 p.m. on the North Carolina 4-H Facebook page for the premiere of the Dr. Kim Ingold NC 4-H Photography Contest.
The premiere video will showcase every photograph submitted by 4-H youth and adults from across the state, highlighting their creativity, perspectives and photography skills.
Stay through the end as we announce and celebrate the 2026 contest winners in each category.
Thursday, October 8 – Thankful Thursday
There is a lot to be thankful for in 4-H. On Thankful Thursday, the 4-H community is encouraged to show appreciation for the people, experiences and opportunities that make 4-H possible.
Take a moment to thank someone who has made a difference in your 4-H experience, share a favorite memory or highlight something 4-H has given you. However you participate, Thankful Thursday is a chance to recognize the people and experiences that make the 4-H community special.
On Thankful Thursday, share your own story or celebrate someone who is making a difference. Tag National 4-H and North Carolina 4-H, and use #4HBeyondReady #National4HWeek
